"Song's Ancestral Residence " is the place where Soong Ching Ling's grandfather and father were born and lived. The ancestral house faces the northeast with the back to the southwest and it is built during the Kangxi's reign of the Qing Dynasty. Han Zongteng, the 18th ancestor of his family, moved here from Luodou Wupo Village in Jinshan. The ancestral house has 2 main rooms, 2 wing rooms, and 2 gatehouses. The building area is 198 square meters. This is a building with typical Wenchang characteristics.
To commemorate the historical contributions and far-reaching influence of Soong Yaoru and his family, in 1985, the People’s Government of Wenchang County (currently Wenchang City) allocated funds to renovate the house according to its original appearance. The various objects displayed in the ancestral house reflect the economic situations of the farming society in Wenchang, Hainan at that time and the living situation of the owner. In 1988, Deng Xiaoping wrote the inscription "TSong's Ancestral Residence". In 1994, the Hainan Provincial Government announced that the of Song's Ancestral Residence is a provincial Key Cultural Relics Protection Site.
The Soong Ching Ling Exhibition Hall was built in 1987 and is a courtyard-style building. The hall was officially opened in 1988. The name of the hall which is composed of six chinese characters "Soong Ching Ling Exhibition Hall" were inscribed by Kang Keqing, the former vice chairman of the CPPCC and chairman of the All-China Women's Federation. In 2021, to solemnly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and commemorate the 40th anniversary of the country’s honorary chairman Soong Ching Ling’s joining the Communist Party of China , the Soong Ching Ling Exhibition Hall has been fully upgraded, and the "Always With the Party" Soong Ching Ling's historical relics exhibition will be held. Through more than 100 precious pictures, manuscripts and videos, multimedia installations and other carriers, it vividly explains that Soong Ching Ling has always been standing firmly by the side of the Chinese people and the Communist Party of China and has been unyieldingly and unwaveringly exploring and striving for the independence of the nation and the prosperity of the country.
Soong Yaoru (October 17, 1861-May 3, 1918), whose surname was originally Han and given name was Jiaozhun, was born in Guluyuan Village, Changsa Town, Wenchang. Soong Yaoru is the founder of the Soong Family, a close friend of Sun Yat-sen, and one of the pioneers of China’s Democratic Revolution. He is praised as the “hermit” in the revolution. The statue of Soong Yaoru is 2.5 meters high, gifted by Dr. Sun Suifang, Sun Yat-sen’s granddaughter, on October 17, 2001 in commemoration of the 140th birthday of Soong Yaoru.
Soong Ching Ling (January 27, 1893-May 29, 1981), was born in Shanghai and was originally from Wenchang, Hainan. She is one of the founders of the People’s Republic of China and the honorary chairman of the country. She is internationally renowned for her beliefs in patriotism, democracy, and internationalism. She is a great fighter for communism. The white marble statue of Soong Ching Ling is 3.2 meters high, created by the national first-class sculptor Li Xue. In 1991, it was co-presented by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling. The three characters “Soong Ching Ling” on the base were inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping in 1988, and the eight characters that mean “Unifying China and Revitalizing the Chinese Nation” are engraved on the back of the statue, showing Soong Ching Ling’s strong desire for national reunification and rejuvenation.
Sun Yat-sen (November 12, 1866-March 12, 1925) was a native of Cuiheng Village, Xiangshan County, Guangdong Province (now Zhongshan, Guangdong Province). He was the first to put forward the complete anti-imperialist and anti-feudalism, “to build a republic and end the monarchy”, and was the first to put forward the slogan of “revitalizing China”. He was a great national hero, a great patriot, and a great pioneer of China’s Democratic Revolution. He took the revolution as his mission, determined to save the country and the people, and made a historic contribution to the Chinese nation.
The statue of Sun Yat-sen is 2.5 meters high, presented by Dr. Sun Suifang, Sun Yat-sen’s granddaughter, in commemoration of the 140th birthday of Soong Yaoru on October 17, 2001.
